From Valencia to Glasgow: Pink Kelpie Volleyball Club's Summer of Celebration

The Pink Kelpie Volleyball Club (PKVC) is riding a massive wave of momentum. Hot on the heels of competing internationally at the prestigious Gay Games XII in Valencia (held June 27 – July 4, 2026), the Glasgow-based club has returned home to celebrate another major milestone: being named a finalist at the Proud Scotland Awards.

The Proud Scotland Awards honor the individuals and organizations that go above and beyond to support and empower the LGBTQ+ community. While PKVC did not take home the final trophy on the night, the team expressed immense gratitude and pride just to be shortlisted among the country’s finest champions of equality.

Founded to provide a safe, empowering space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, PKVC operates with a strict "community-first" ethos. They cater to everyone—from local beginners to the competitive squad that just represented Scotland on the world stage in Spain.

Now back on home soil, the Kelpies are channeling that momentum into their next big event: a joint Fundraiser Tournament on Sunday, July 19th, 2026. Partnering with the Glasgow Outdoor Volleyball Club (GOVC), the tournament features Mixed 4v4 play across Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner divisions.

All funds raised will help lower barriers to entry and secure training spaces to keep the club accessible to all. Whether you want to join a session, support the fundraiser, or sign up, you can find everything at kpvc.org.uk.
